When Wayne emailed us to say our dishwashing liquid had saved his natural septic system on Waiheke Island, we knew we had to go and meet him. So Adam and I took the ferry across and spent the evening with Wayne and Sue at their stunning off-grid property.
Wayne had built a worm farm as an alternative septic system, but harsh supermarket dish liquid was killing everything. When he switched to Real World, the worm population bounced back by the thousands. Sitting around their fire pit that evening, sharing a glass of Man O' War wine, we were reminded of exactly why we do what we do.
